Last October 30, Robert Melanson of Engadget reports that Disney has bought LucasFilms for a fraction over four billion dollars and also indicated that Disney plans on releasing new installations to the Star Wars saga.
And delight has eluded me.
Don’t get me wrong here. I’ve been salivating for the longest on the next Star Wars film. And Disney is a great company. It’s just that I don’t think it’s the right mix. Disney has established itself well to make its approach a clear signature. Most of us can easily recognize a Disney film and the way George Lucas has breathe life to the Star Wars saga with his genius and unique approach, I think it to be a safe assumption that they are not entirely meant for each other.
It’s a chop suey of emotions that stir in my guts. I’m both excited and dreadful of how the new Star Wars film will end up. It’s just like watching the Death Star approach – despite knowing it’s doom that’s coming, you just can’t help but stare in awe.
Below is a video ad posted on Youtube that well looks like a commentary or parody you name it, regarding this news:
A fan-made video of a Tie Fighter and X Fighter battle, two popular space crafts seen in the Star Wars saga:

I am such a fan of the Lord of the Rings (LOTR), be it the books or the motion pictures. Fans, for sure, will be on its heel for every update and developments especially now that the first installation of a new trilogy is about to hit theaters this December 14 with the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey*. It has such a following that I don’t think it even needs grand promotions and advertisements so I was quite surprised when I found this Lord of the Rings-inspired Safety Video produced by Air New Zealand. I was so amused as I watched the rest of the video I just couldn’t help grinning the entire time. It was so creatively crafted I almost wished all airlines would do the same.
If it was effectivity and purpose they were after, the video surely delivered. At least for me.

And, the official trailer of the movie here:
*The Hobbit Trilogy is the prequel to the LOTR Trilogy and tells of how Bilbo Baggins ended up with the One Ring.
Oh boy! My childhood superhero is hitting the big screen once more with the showing of Iron Man 3. Well, it won’t be until April 2013 but I just can’t hide my excitement.
Among the Marvel Superheroes, Iron Man is my favorite simply because I find his character the nearest to ever becoming real (God knows up to what extent Nanotechnology could bring us to). He is also a practical visionary. He is at one with the world and doesn’t really sees himself as separate from it. Plus I like that “A billionaire-playboy-philanthropist” statement. Hahaha.

Plus a cute parody here, or should I say, a baby version (still cute though):
